If you don’t believe the Institutions responsible for recording the world’s temperature have ALL been systematically distorting the data to exagerate the upward trend look at this link. http://www.climateaudit.org/?p=1142 See the difference? The 1920s-30s are lower and the 1990s higher. The effect of the adjustments since 2000 has been to bring the USHCN history (raw data) more in line with the NOAA/ CRU "version". So much for the “independence” of the various data series. They are all fiddling the raw trend data in the same direction - upwards.
